Live Music for Your Wedding Drinks Reception
The drinks reception is when everyone gets to properly socialise. Ceremony complete, photos underway, drinks in hand — it's the moment the day shifts from formal to relaxed, and people get the chance to talk to each other.
Live music is what takes the vibe from good to great. I read the crowd and lift the energy — setting the mood without getting in the way of conversation.
Two tailored live sets with a curated playlist keeping the atmosphere going — around 90 minutes of live music, built around you and your guests.
What to Expect
Bring Your Drinks Reception to Life
The Moment
Drinks in hand, guests start to mingle — catching up with people they haven't seen in years, meeting new faces. The music sets the tone from the moment they walk in and keeps the energy going right through to dinner.
Everything is built around your day — I'll work around your timings and coordinate with your venue on the day.
Top Tips
I'll share my full repertoire ahead of the day — just pick your top must-hears and a few that are definitely not for you, and I'll handle the rest.
Your guests will love hearing their favourites too — a mix across different ages and tastes is what really gets a room going.
You can choose the songs for the playlist between sets, or just leave it with me.

Common Questions & Planning
Drinks Reception Questions, Answered
How long does a wedding drinks reception singer usually perform?
Typically around 90 minutes of live music across two 45-minute sets, with a curated playlist running between them to keep the atmosphere going. The exact timing depends on how long your reception runs, but I'll work around your schedule and coordinate directly with your venue.
What kind of songs work best for a wedding drinks reception?
Drinks receptions tend to suit a mix of familiar, feel-good tracks — think acoustic pop, a bit of soul, some classic crowd pleasers and contemporary hits. The aim is music that lifts the room without overpowering conversation. I tailor every setlist to the couple, so if you want something more laid-back, more upbeat, or a specific era, just say so.
Can I request specific songs for my drinks reception?
Absolutely. Most couples have songs that mean something to them and I love building those in. If a backing track is not available for your chosen song, I can arrange for one to be recorded for a small additional fee. Just let me know early so there is plenty of time to prepare.
If I'm also having ceremony music, do I need a separate PA setup?
Not at all. My equipment covers both your ceremony and drinks reception in one setup. The Daytime Package bundles both together, which most couples find is the simplest and most cost-effective option. I just need to know the layout of your venue so I can plan where to position everything.
What is the difference between drinks reception music and wedding meal music?
Drinks receptions are livelier — guests are up, mingling, celebrating — so the music can be a little more upbeat and present. Wedding meal music tends to be softer and more background-focused to suit conversation across tables. Both can work brilliantly; it really comes down to the feel you want at each part of the day.
What happens if my drinks reception runs over schedule?
No problem. I build flexibility into every booking and stay in close communication with your venue team on the day. If timings shift, I adjust — the music always lands in the right place.
